What we hide — and what we don’t.

A privacy product is only as good as its honesty about its own edges. So here it is, exactly: what stays hidden, what an observer can still see, and what “disappears” really means.

Hidden, and visible

The exact line

Most private messengers protect your words but leak who you talk to. stealthtext hides both — nothing on-chain names the sender, the recipient, or the content. Even the message’s length is hidden: every message is padded to the same fixed size, so a single word looks identical to a full one. What an observer can tell is only that a shielded action happened.

Hidden

Sender · recipient · content · length

The recipient stays hidden even from network nodes, decided only by trial-decryption on their own device — and every message is padded to the same fixed size, so its length gives nothing away either.
Visible

That a shielded action happened

And roughly when — never who, to whom, or what.
02

No company, no backdoor

Nobody in the middle
E2E

Only the recipient can open it

Encrypted to the recipient’s key — not a node, not a server, not us. Because no operator sits in the path, there’s no backdoor to add or subpoena.
PQ

Post-quantum from day one

Sealed against future computers from the start — traffic captured today can’t be unlocked later.
No op

Carried by the network

No stealthtext server holds or relays your messages — so none can be compromised, compelled, or shut off.
03

What “disappears” means

Precise, not absolute

After two weeks a network-wide expiry removes every message, for both sides — no server keeps a copy. Precisely: removed from honest nodes’ storage and unreadable to everyone. That’s a property of the honest network, not a mathematical impossibility — so we never say “gone forever.” The one absolute is confidentiality: encryption holds no matter who kept a copy. By default your device keeps nothing; local history is opt-in and deletable anytime.

04

Your identity stays yours

No names, no numbers
Address

No phone number, no contacts

No directory to join, no address book to hand over. The app can display your existing wallet contacts read-only, storing nothing new.
Receipts

No read receipts

Delivery status shows only the message’s own journey — never when, or whether, you opened something.
Won’t claim

What we won’t say

Not “invisible,” not “indistinguishable from a payment,” not “gone forever.” We claim only what we can keep.

Private by default. Honest about the edges.

stealthtext runs on Stealth’s shielded rail — post-quantum from day one.
